High lift caster solves common air caster transport problems:
- Machine frame is too flexible (compliant / bendable) for machine rest legs / wheels to lift off the floor (air casters lift typically 3/8” and flexible machine frames can bend exceeding 3/8”)
- Machine frame is not perfectly flat with the floor (so air casters mount nonparallel to the floor)
- Floor has non-flat local areas or slopes steeper than standard air caster membrane rises allow
How high lift caster works:
The air caster side is free to tilt with reference to mounting plate or machine frame (so air caster can auto adjust to floor slope / unevenness changes)
The air bag side provides additional lift far beyond the air caster membrane lift (as much as five times) compensating for bending machine frames thus lifting machine wheels or machine legs off the floor when the high lift caster is levitated.
One hose automatically supplies air to both air caster and air bag (patent pending).
